The Birth FIR
Parents and relatives carved the new-born's name into a FIR in the forest that would become the tree spiritual brother. For every anversary they would bring offers and prayers to the tree, until the newborn would grow enough to do this by himself. Not taking care of the tree spiritual brother meant not taking care of their person.

If the person was still alive and not killed by forest creatures or the powers of nature, was freed beliveing that the Fir has judged him.
The Wedding FIR

The Funeral FIR
A
t the death of an young person a fir would be planted on the grave, sometimes the very one that was carved with the name of birth. If a member of the family died far away from home, a fir trunk would be buried instead.
